First Ever Long Run

On 28th August Marathon sponsored by Airtel was held.We could not register on time, still we(me & Ashwin) decided to be part of the run.

Getting up early in the morning is so painful, still woke up and as decided reached the venue by 5:30 a.m. We tried to register, but the last minute registration was not allowed, but we were allowed to join the run (without any hope of getting participation certificate or medal or prize) that made our moment. We joined for the Half Marathon of just 21.152 Kms. It began at 6:10 a.m. from Necklace Road to Gachibowli Stadium. Throughout the run we traveled across the city.

We know "The first step & the last step is the hardest one to take" this I realized both the same day. Being it the first ever run, it was "will I" or "will I not" and the other was those last few hundred meters in stadium. By the time we were about to finish we were dead tired, but our colleague Kshitij and Karthik cheered us that gave us extra energy to complete those final steps and we did it.

Having completed the run was simply awesome. I loved it and hope to look for more in the near future.

Thanks Ashwin for giving me company, Kshitij and Karthik for their support. And the Hyderabad traffic police who all the time looked around for our safety.

It’s a lifetime experience I had.
